Business today is transacted on a complex, evolving stage. Global financial markets are linked as never before. Goods and services flow across time zones and cultural barriers. Technology continually redefines the way clients and companies interact.

Students preparing for a career in business need a university that combines forward-looking, progressive programs with practical, hands-on experience. At Quinnipiac's School of Business, they gain the inside track.

Taught by an outstanding faculty, students choose among a wide choice of majors. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business has granted full accreditation to the School of Business' standards, curriculum and programs. Quinnipiac is one of only seven Connecticut institutions to have earned this distinction.

Quinnipiac also has the added distinction of being ranked first among northern universities with master's degree programs as having made the most promising and innovative changes in academics, faculty, campus or facilities. The ranking appeared in U.S. News & World Report's annual America's Best Colleges issue.

Faculty members are expert communicators in class and encouraging mentors outside the classroom. Curricula are continually reviewed by the School of Business Advisory Board, whose members includes CEOs from major corporations in Connecticut.

Career planning
At the School of Business, theory meets practice with an emphasis on career planning. Career awareness begins in the freshman business course. During the sophomore year, students work with career counselors to assess interests and strengths. The University also sponsors job fairs that draw large numbers of recruiters from industries across the United States.

The School of Business also co-sponsors more than 150 internships that offer first-hand experience in a business environment. School of Business students have interned at:

  • The American Broadcasting Company
  • United Technologies Corporation
  • Ernst & Young
  • Morgan Stanley
  • The Bayer Corporation

Finance majors have an opportunity to study the action at the world center of finance--the New York Stock Exchange--and spend time with Quinnipiac alumni who are members and traders.

On campus, the Lender School of Business Center is the perfect environment for learning. Television monitors display breaking financial news. Classrooms are wired for technology-driven learning, and case team rooms are available for case study projects.

Students also have the option to study abroad. Through an agreement with Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Rennes in France, Quinnipiac students can spend a semester studying with international peers, taking timely courses in international business.

Graduate Programs
The School of Business offers several graduate programs. These include master's programs in business administration (MBA), business administration in health care management, organizational leadership and computer information systems.

In addition, qualified undergraduate students can pursue a combined BS/MBA or BS/MS CIS degree. Students can pursue a combined MBA/JD and a combined MBA/JD in health care management through Quinnipiac's School of Law.

The School of Business also offers two certificate programs in health administration: the Health Care Compliance Certificate program and the Long-Term Care Certificate program.
