If you don't have a major, you can go undeclared into any of our schools. You will have an opportunity to take classes from any school and once you find something that you are interested in, you will have the chance to further explore that area of study.
If you happen to be in a major that you are unhappy with, your adviser can work with you to switch your major or assist you in taking classes of interest that may become a possible major.

Health/science studies with a minor in science and values
Coming into Quinnipiac undeclared is perfectly fine and is no reason to worry! During the first two years of school, students can explore their interests through a variety of courses, which will fulfill the University Core Curriculum. When you find a course you really enjoy, it will lead you to the right major. Lindsay Kazin '11 |
As a junior, most of my friends and roommates have declared their major, but half of them have changed their major since they began their freshman year at QU. I entered Quinnipiac as a physical therapy student, switched my major to psychology, and then entered the teaching program with a major in English. For some students, it just takes longer to figure out what you want to do, no matter where you go. If you don't have a major, don't stress and don't feel rushed. You have time to make this big decision, as the administration, teachers and family will guide you along the way. Jennifer Walts '10 |
There's no worries if you don't have a major. Many people come to college as undeclared. Your first two years are developed in such a way that it will help you decide on a major. I decided on my major at the end of my sophomore year. The best thing to do is join the clubs of things that interest you, talk to professors, and attend events and career fairs. Xavier Garcia '10 |
