Visits to Campus: "Three campuses, one university"
Transfer and Independent Counselors are welcome to visit Quinnipiac throughout the year. If you would like to visit us individually, please call us in advance for an appointment to meet with a transfer admissions counselor, take a student guided campus tour, and be our guest for lunch.

If geography prohibits a visit, we would call your attention to our online information, particularly the Quinnipiac Connection, where you'll hear from our students (including transfers) and faculty. Information on the Transfer Application Process
Quinnipiac accepts transfer students for most majors for both the spring and fall semesters. The exceptions are nursing, occupational therapy, and athletic training. Acceptance of transfer students to these majors occurs only for the fall semester, on a space available basis. Transfer students are not accepted into the undergraduate track for the physician's assistant or physical therapy programs. They can transfer into an appropriate major, and after earning a bachelor's degree and completing patient care hours requirements, apply to the respective graduate programs. Information about the graduate physician's assistant program is located in the university catalog. The physical therapy graduate program will not begin accepting students until Fall 2013.

Prospective transfer students may use the Quinnipiac University application for admission or may apply by using the Transfer Common Application and Supplemental form. There is no preference for which application the student may use, but we encourage students to apply online. The undergraduate admissions office works on a "rolling admissions" basis. The transfer admissions committee begins reviewing completed applications for the spring semester in October and for the fall semester in early February. Transfer applications for the fall semester are not complete until we have the results of the current fall semester. Nursing, occupational therapy, and athletic training applications should be completed by March 1. Acceptance is based on the availability of spaces in each program and is competitive. While there are no specific deadlines for all other majors, we encourage transfer applications for the spring semester by mid November, and for the fall semester by April 1. This allows ample time for processing and allows the student to make a smooth transition.

A completed application consists of:

• Online application form - Quinnipiac application or Transfer Common Application and Supplemental form ($45.00 non-refundable application fee)
• Personal statement (essay) which discusses their previous college experiences and reasons for wanting to transfer to Quinnipiac (minimum 250 words)
• Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, whether or not grades were earned
• Official high school transcript (not required if the student has already been awarded an associate or baccalaureate degree)
• Official AP test scores (if taken in HS)
• Official standardized test scores if student has not yet earned 30 credits of college level work
• Letter of recommendation from an advisor or teacher. Student's full name should appear on any letter or form

Students are notified by letter of decision. Spring candidates admitted prior to the recommended deadline date are asked to respond to offers of admission by Dec. 15. Admitted fall candidates have until May 1. Applicants admitted after the recommended deadline dates must respond within 10 days of the admission letter. A matriculation fee of $200 and housing deposit of $350 will secure their place. Spring deposits are refundable if we are notified in writing by January 1; fall deposits are refundable with written notification by June 1.

Helpful facts:
We receive over 1,000 applications for transfer admission each year. Between the fall and spring semesters, approximately 250 transfer students will accept join the Quinnipiac community. These students come from more than 90 different colleges and universities; 50percent come from outside Connecticut.

Quinnipiac normally grants transfer credit for courses appropriate to the chosen curriculum, completed with a grade of C or better at a regionally accredited postsecondary institution. Transfer credit evaluation usually begins when a student is admitted. However, an unofficial evaluation can be completed for prospective students by request. A transcript including course listings and grades may be forwarded by email to joanne.robertson@quinnipiac.edu or to her attention by fax at 203-582-8906. Student must include expected major and contact information, including email address.

We recommend that students visit the campus for either an Open House, group information session or a one- on-one interview (interviews are not required). Due to the demand, students should use our online reservation system to arrange their visit. We host group information sessions followed by a campus tour most Saturdays during the fall and spring semesters, and weekdays throughout the year. Transfer students are an integral part of the Quinnipiac community. They participate in student clubs and organizations, intramural sports, athletics, study abroad programs and service learning. Internships provide practical experience and contacts, and career services staff in each school assist students with the next steps in their career goals.
