The Computer Science and Interactive Digital Design department will sponsor its sixth annual High School Computer Programming Competition from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 24.
High schools may enter one or two teams consisting of a maximum of three students. Student teams will work to solve programming problems and submit them in either Java or C++. Students must be accompanied by at least one adviser.
Each team will receive a computer that will not have access to the Internet. Students may bring references to the competition. The competition will consist of five or six problems ranging from easy to difficult. Judging will be based on whether the submitted program compiles, runs and solves the specified problem.
Students will be given three hours to complete the competition. Lunch, prizes and an optional tour will follow the competition.
