ED 521 - Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education
(3 cr.) This course is an inquiry into the institutional structures, social values and philosophical foundations of education. Teacher and student reflections focus on issues pertaining to the teaching-learning process, including freedom/authority/discipline; cultural diversity; multiplicity of learning modes; mind-body integration; community; alienation/violence; sexism/racism/elitism; and teacher/student roles.
