HS 342 - The Early American Republic
(3 cr.) This course considers American history from 1787 to 1848. Emphasis is on the ratification of the Constitution, the administrations of Washington, Adams, Jefferson and Madison; the growth of political parties; and political action stemming from differing theoretical positions. The course also examines culture and society in the era of good feeling and the Jacksonian period, and considers the changing position of the average American citizen.
