|(3 cr.) This is a required course for advanced psychology
majors. It covers philosophies dating back to
ancient Greece. Participants review the history of
scientific thought and of brain science. They
trace the emergence of the science of psychology
and the development of different systems of
thought or theoretical perspectives within
psychology. Students compare and contrast
psychological perspectives in terms of how they
have both deepened and limited our understanding.
