EN 345 - English Literature of the Renaissance
(3 cr.) This intensive study of the principal genres of 16th-century English literature, including lyric poetry (Sidney) and Romance such as The Faerie Queen (Spenser), places special emphasis on the major works of the Elizabethan period. Some attention is given to the medieval background, Renaissance art and music, and continental literature. Prerequisite: one course from EN level 200; Every Other Year, Spring
