BIO 240 - Cellular Communication
(3 cr.) This class focuses on the molecular mechanisms by which cells communicate with each other. Using examples from both prokaryotes and eukaryotes, students examine how cells release signaling molecules, and then consider how target cells recognize and respond to the signals. Participants discuss how the basic processes are altered in diseases of signal processing such as cancer, diabetes and depression.
