GDD 200 - Game Production Practices
(3 cr.) This course provides students with an overview of game preproduction planning, research and development including consideration of various platforms (consoles, PC, online, mobile and social media), game genres, game conceptualization and objectives, story development, game mechanics and playability, character, soundtrack, level design and interface. Through project work, students gain an understanding of game design life-cycle management and the roles of design teams consisting of lead designers, game mechanic designers, level/environment or world designers, writers, 2D and 3D artists; sound designers, composers, programmers and interface designers.
