LAWS 619 - Information Privacy Law
(2 cr.) The course will provide an introduction to a fast-evolving field of law that is increasingly relevant to lawyers in both the private and public sectors and that touches many areas of law and regulation, including labor and employment, consumer protection, healthcare, financial services, e-commerce and national security. Beginning with a review of the foundations of U.S. privacy law and its evolution in U.S. common and statutory law, the seminar will take a series of focused looks at privacy law in key settings.
