LAWS 620 - Electronic Discovery & Digital Evidence
(2 cr.) This course will examine the procedural and evidentiary issues that arise in an increasingly digital world. We will focus on the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the Federal Rules of Evidence as they apply to the retention, storage, production in pre-trial discovery, and admissibility at trial of electronically stored information. The course will be interactive and afford students the opportunity to utilize written and oral advocacy skills in applying the rules of procedure, evidence and ethics to civil and criminal case scenarios. The course will also involve a research paper and no final exam. No special knowledge about computers is needed. Pre or Co-Requisite: Evidence Prerequisite: LAWS 311.
