Student Organizations

A variety of vibrant, industry-oriented student groups allow students to put their classroom learning into practical, and often enjoyable, use.

The Chronicle
The Chronicle is Quinnipiac's official student-run newspaper. The newspaper is a source of news and campus communication and is published almost every Wednesday during the school year and can be found in a variety of locations around campus. All students are encouraged to participate in reporting, copy editing, photography, layout and advertising.

National Association of Black Journalists
Quinnipiac has the first college-affiliated chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists in New England. NABJ is an organization of journalists, students and media-related professionals that provides quality programs and services to and advocates on behalf of black journalists worldwide.

Q30 is the student-run closed-circuit television station on campus. The station features a variety of shows about news, sports, music and more. Located in the Ed McMahon Mass Communications Center, it provides a tremendous opportunity for communications and non-communications majors to become involved and experience how a television station works.

Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ)
The Quinnipiac chapter of this national industry group is dedicated to the perpetuation of a free press as the cornerstone of our nation and our liberty. The group encourages a climate in which journalism can be practiced freely and fully, stimulates high standards and ethical behavior in the practice of journalism, fosters excellence and encourages diversity among journalists, and inspires successive generations of talented individuals to become dedicated journalists.

WQAQ 98.1 FM
This nonprofit, educational station provides members of the Quinnipiac community and residents of surrounding towns with 24-hour programming of music, news and public service information. All students are encouraged to join the WQAQ staff. Participants have the opportunity to be involved in production, writing, post-production, promotions and on-air work.
