Get DirectionsAlpha Phi Omega, Quinnipiac’s co-ed national service fraternity, is providing a service event on October 20 from 7-8:30 p.m. in SC-120 where birthday cards can be made by students and faculty for older adults in day centers and residential facilities.
“The goal of the event is to engage with the greater Hamden community,” said Alpha Phi Omega Service Vice President Ashley Amarante. “I thought making thoughtful birthday cards would be a good project to make someone's day.”
The cards will not be signed to anyone specific. Instead, students and faculty will make birthday cards that can be given to anyone and the facilities will add a name for residents who have a birthday.
One of the facilities receiving the cards is the Clelian Center, a day center in Hamden. Alpha Phi Omega will be delivering the cards to the center every Thursday when they volunteer at their Bingo events.
There is no participation fee or registration.
Anyone can attend the service event and create cards. The event will be monitored to ensure COVID-19 guidelines are followed.
