Join the Department of Cultural & Global Engagement for our signature event for Native American Heritage Month. We will be hosting a film screening of Gather followed by a live Q&A with Tarren Andrews (Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes) and Natasha Myhal (Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians). Gather is an intimate portrait of the growing movement amongst Native Americans to reclaim their spiritual, political and cultural identities through food sovereignty, while battling the trauma of centuries of genocide. Tarren Andrews will join the Yale Program in Ethnicity, Race, and Migration as an Assistant Professor on July 1, 2023. She is currently appointed as a Postdoctoral Associate for the 2022-23 academic year. Natasha Myhal is a PhD candidate in the department of Ethnic Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder with an emphasis on Native American and Indigenous Studies. She is currently the 2022/2023 Henry Roe Cloud Dissertation Fellow at Yale University.
