QU Women Student Entrepreneurs Panel Discussion

In celebration of Women's Entrepreneurship Week 2021, please join us for a panel discussion featuring Quinnipiac's very own entrepreneurs! Hear about their various phases of their entrepreneurial journey and what it takes to be your own boss.

We will be in conversation with these amazing young women entrepreneurs:

  • Isabella Dias, founder of Beijo by Bella, a beauty cosmetics company for diverse consumers that focuses on playing a role in bringing social change and redefining what it means to be beautiful. She presented her business idea at the 2021 PUCIE Semifinal Pitch Competition. She graduated with Bachelor's in Psychology in 2021 and will earn her MBA degree in May 2022. Currently, Isabella works on improving her business while she is working at Herb Chambers BMW in Boston as a client specialist.

  • Dena Dupree, QU MBA student and a founder of NailTique, a 3-D mani-pedi software for consumers and salons. She presented her business idea at the 2021 PUCIE Semifinal Pitch Competition. NailTique aspires to create a community for nail technicians and their clientele to communicate on a platform used for communication, sharing content and managing appointments for users.Currently, she is an entrepreneur of Sip Happens, a customized glassware business.

  • McKenna Haz, former QU student, founder of SEAAV Athletics, and Division 1 NCAA Athlete. She earned the $2,000 second-place prize in the 2021 QU's PUCIE Pitch Competition and a $5000 grant in 2021 WBENC Entrepreneurship Collegiate Accelerator this summer, for her company SEAAV Athletics, a sustainable athletic clothing line made from recycled plastic waste. SEAAV is committed to raising awareness and funding to keep oceans clean. Mckenna graduated with her Bachelor's in May and now works full time on SEAAV Athletics.

  • Kallie Purdue, QU MBA student and a founder of Refashion, an app that promotes the buying and selling of high-quality secondhand clothing with a large emphasis on sustainability and education. It combats the global issue fast fashion that has many harmful effects on environments, landfills, and garment workers. She presented her business idea at the 2021 PUCIE Pitch Competition. Kallie currently works at the PUCWB as a Student Engagement Intern.

  • Moderated by: Patrice Luoma is a newly appointed director of People’s United Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and leader of the innovation ecosystem initiative at QU. Patrice Luoma is a long-time faculty member in strategy and entrepreneurship at Quinnipiac University.
