Ridvan Gedik is an Assistant Professor of Management at Quinnipiac University. Prior to joining Quinnipiac University, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of New Haven and Mississippi State University (MSSTATE).
His primary research interests include developing efficient solution techniques for large-scale optimization problems in the application areas of supply chain management, logistics, health care, transportation, manufacturing and homeland security. He is also interested in developing and implementing machine learning models for transportation (road and airline) safety problems and sport games. Ridvan has published several articles and proceedings in many different venues and secured funding from federal and state agencies for his research.
Being in a classroom environment gives tremendous joy to Ridvan as his teaching interests include supply chain management, data driven decision making, operations management and operations research. He has also taught undergraduate and graduate level probability, statistics, production control systems, and simulation courses. Ridvan is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), Decision Science Institute (DSI) and the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE).
