Obama's new gun control measures

Mark Gius

Mark Gius, a professor of economics who wrote the column, "President Obama's Latest Executive Actions on Gun Control are Too Little, Too Late," for the London School of Economics, is available for interviews.

In his piece, Gius argues that because of the way that the federal background check system works, as well as a lack of funding, the president's measures will likely do little to actually reduce U.S. gun violence.

Gius' research on the effects of concealed weapons laws and assault weapons bans on state-level murder rates was cited in a Jan. 1 op-ed published by the Washington Post

To schedule an interview with Gius, please call John Morgan, associate vice president for public relations, at 203-582-5359 (office) or 203-206-4449 (cell).
