e are saddened by the loss of a member of the Quinnipiac family, Frederick John Mancheski.
His tireless efforts and dedication to Quinnipiac as a long-time member of our Board of Trustees helped fuel our growth throughout the 1990s and beyond. Among his legacy contributions to Quinnipiac are the Echlin Center, as well as gifts to the School of Business and the Arnold Bernhard Library.
He realized his dream of running his own company when he became president, and ultimately CEO and chairman, of Echlin Inc., in the 1960s. The automotive parts company flourished under his more than 30 years of successful leadership.
After his retirement, he focused his efforts on the Connecticut Hospice by serving as chairman. Under his tireless leadership, the organization garnered international recognition.
He died peacefully at the Connecticut Hospice on Wednesday at 92.
