eteran radio broadcaster Pam Landry has been appointed operations manager at Quinnipiac University’s radio station AM 1220 WQUN, announced General Manager Ray Andrewsen.
“Pam Landry comes to WQUN after serving nearly 20 years as the highly popular midday host of the ‘Blue Plate Special’ and announcer at heritage classic rock station WPLR-FM in New Haven,” Andrewsen said. “Pam has been affiliated with WQUN as a fill-in host for morning and afternoon shows for the past several years. She is very talented, community-spirited and a great fit for our radio family.”
In her new position, Landry is responsible for overseeing the quality of the sound and programming for the radio station and its online stream. She also oversees all commercial production, public service and specialty programming, and will act as a network-affiliation coordinator.
“After many years in the Connecticut and New York radio markets, I'm very much looking forward to the newest chapter in my radio career,” Landry said, “Having worked on and off at WQUN since 2009, I'm excited to now be a full-time member of a great staff of people who enjoy serving our local community.”
Landry has an extensive resume that includes positions as an on-air personality at WXPK-FM, 107.1 “The Peak” and a creative consultant at the United Stations Radio Network.
She also has worked as a correspondent for the New Haven Register, an editor at Patch.com, a music director at WPLR-FM in New Haven and in positons at radio stations in the Connecticut and New York area. Landry has also done voiceover work for the VH1 Radio Network and narrated the audio book, “Honest Money,” by Douglas Gnazzo.
