Your 12 seed women’s basketball team scored another major upset in the NCAA Tournament on Monday night, defeating 4 seed Miami, 85-78, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Bobcats will face South Carolina in the Sweet 16 today at 4 p.m.


he Quinnipiac women's basketball team's historic run continued on March 20 as the No. 12 seeded Bobcats upset the No. 4 seeded Miami, 85-78, in the NCAA Second Round from the Watsco Center.

Quinnipiac (29-6) continues its Cinderella run into the Sweet 16 and will face the No. 1 seeded South Carolina in the Stockton region in California at 4 p.m. on March 25.

The win makes Quinnipiac the fourth 12th seed in NCAA Division I women's basketball history to advance the Sweet 16, joining BYU in 2014, Kansas in 2013 and San Francisco in 1996.

In addition, Quinnipiac becomes the fourth team in history to defeat a No. 5 and No. 4 seed to advance to the Sweet 16.
