John Stephan

March 4, 2014 - John Stephan has been named visiting associate professor of entrepreneurship in the School of Business.

Stephan teaches strategic business problem solving, an online MBA introductory course, as well as strategic integrated management seminar to undergraduates.

"I try to engage my students," Stephan said. "They will be successful business people if they can come up with multiple good answers to any question. I try to get the students to understand that the good answers are the ones that you have a justification for and that you can provide a reasonable rationale for either by using evidence or a good argument."

Stephan earned a bachelor's degree in math and theater from the College of Williams and Mary as well as an MBA and doctorate from Columbia University. He has taught at Marist College, Florida Atlantic University, the University of Buffalo, Pace University, St. John's and Columbia.

"I love the interaction with students," Stephan said. "It's interesting to find out what makes them tick. Quinnipiac is a really nice place. I'm very favorably impressed."

Stephan is the author of numerous book chapters and refereed articles and has presented at many conferences.
