June 12, 2014 - Tieline Theater will present "Midsummer Lovers," at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 20 outdoors in the pine grove adjacent to the College of Arts and Sciences on the Mount Carmel Campus.

The production will also be performed at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 21 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 22.

"Midsummer Lovers" is an imaginative, site-specific production of scenes from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" focusing on the romantic escapades of the four lovers Helena, Demetrius, Hermia and Lysander. The characters eventually venture into the woods and come under the spell of the unpredictable magical beings Oberon and Puck. The production is also interactive, as the audience will be asked to follow the actors as they move through the pine grove.

The production will be directed by Drew Scott, adjunct faculty member in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts. Melissa Mullaney will serve as assistant director.

"Midsummer Lovers" is the inaugural production of Tieline Theater, a group of University alumni who have come together to participate in a concentrated and focused exploration of Shakespearean text.

The cast includes: Krystle Bernier as Puck, Michael Bobenhausen as Lysander, Juli McGourty as Hermia, Melissa Mullaney as Oberon, Michael Pray as Demetrius and Jessica Otterbine as Helena.

In the event of inclement weather, the production will be moved to the Black Box Theater on the Mount Carmel Campus. Admission is free.
