Health Care Shortage Scholarship

Scholarship | Up to $25,000 per year; two-years | Quinnipiac University

The Health Care Shortage Scholarship supports a medical student who would like to pursue a career in areas that are medically underserved as defined by the U.S. Department Health and Human Services (HRSA).



To support a medical student who has demonstrated academic excellence and a passion for serving others, nontraditional communities or communities in need of additional assistance.

Scholarship Requirements

To apply for this scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Be accepted and matriculate to the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine

  • Demonstrate a commitment to practice medicine in a designated health care shortage area as defined by HRSA.

  • Write an essay (500-word limit) answering the following: Access to primary health care providers is very limited in certain areas. What is your long-term plan to contribute in helping to solve this crisis?

How to Apply

Application Deadline

March 1 or within two weeks after receipt of your acceptance to the medical school if admitted after March 1. All award decisions will be made no later than April 15.
