All School of Communications programs deliver market-driven knowledge and expertise and provide strong emphasis on experiential learning in our world-sized classroom. Our model of communications education takes our students beyond the ordinary to learn and apply their knowledge in real communications and media settings.

The School of Communications offers industry-staple programs in journalism, public relations, media studies, and film, television and media arts. In response to market demands, we also offer new-media programs in advertising and integrated communications, as well as graphic and interactive design. These programs are at the cutting-edge of the industy and we continuously adjust our programs to meet the needs of the market. 

If you're looking for advanced programs, we've got those, too. The School of Communications offers a variety of accelerated and dual-degree master's programs, such as our 4-year (3+1) BA or BFA/MS program, which allows you to complete your undergraduate and graduate degrees to get you working faster. And as a communications student, beating deadlines is something you can appreciate.

A network of opportunity

School of Communications students create a vibrant community of more than 12 student-run clubs and organizations, such as Q30-TV, WQAQ FM, Quinnipiac Film Society and The Quinnipiac Bobcats Sports Network.

Further, students are immersed in student competitions, including the College Media Association Pinnacle, the New England Society of News Editors, and the Society of Professional Journalists.

We will also provide you opportunities to work, study and travel in places such as New York City, South Africa and Dublin, Ireland. Quinnipiac in LA is a year-round program based in Los Angeles for our undergraduate and graduate students that combines course work with an internship in the entertainment industry, journalism, digital design, advertising and many other areas.

Multiple opportunities

Students in the film, television and media arts program receive intensive hands-on training in all phases of digital media production.

Quinnipiac University students in Ben Bogardus' class, Producing and Presenting the News, wrap up their live weekly newscast Tuesday, Mar. 29, 2016 in the School of Communications on Quinnipiac's Mount Carmel Campus. Preparation for 21st-century media production

The School of Communications continues to improve on our already innovative curriculum and sophisticated, technologically advanced communications center — all designed to give you a competitive advantage. Learn in some of the best and newly renovated communications and media environments. From our Ed McMahon Mass Communications Center, where you have access to a complete television production studio including cameras, teleprompters and a control room, to our News Technology Center, which has been purposefully designed to emulate a newsroom and production facility.

If you're looking for more ways to develop your skills, you will have the opportunity to participate in student media, where you can produce and cover all of Quinnipiac's 21 NCAA Division I team games, both home and away. Travel with the team, collaborate with local media, tweet, publish, write, edit, post, produce. You'll be immersed in real working environments that blur the lines between being a student and being a professional.

Students have the opportunity to study abroad as part of our core communications programs. From Ireland to Nicaragua, and from Los Angeles to New York City, our students learn by doing with some of our best global partnerships.
