Why School of Quinnipiac Title
Passionate practitioners who will inspire you
Our faculty love what they do — both inside and outside the classroom. Most professors still work in the field, but they get equally excited by educating the next generation. They’re award-winning scientists, beloved practitioners and recognized leaders in their respective fields. They keep up to date with the latest techniques and the ever-evolving health care landscape. They know that their work makes a difference in the lives of many people. They’ll make a profound difference in your life, too.
By the Numbers
Our physician assistant program is ranked No. 5 — out of 190 nationwide — by U.S. News & World Report.
Several of our programs — including physician assistant and physical therapy — report 100% job placement within six months of graduation.
A Big Deal
The number of undergrads enrolled in health science studies. It’s our largest undergraduate major.

Every one of our 20+ programs — from athletic training to physical therapy — integrates theory, research and practice. School and Campus Life
Life as a health sciences student
Health science students come together to form a friendly and inclusive community. Most freshmen and sophomores live in traditional residence halls and suites on the Mount Carmel Campus. Juniors and seniors live in modern apartments on the York Hill Campus, which offers sprawling views of the Long Island Sound. The ski lodge-inspired Rocky Top Student Center as well as sand-volleyball courts add to the resort vibe of the campus, which is also home to the TD Bank Sports Center.
There are no residential units on the 150-acre North Haven Campus, but health science students often spend their days at the library, grab a meal at the full-service dining hall, pick up supplies at the bookstore, work out at the fitness center, or destress in the yoga and meditation room. A shuttle bus service connects all of the campuses.
At Quinnipiac’s School of Health Sciences, career development begins the moment you step foot on the high-tech North Haven Campus. Not only do we teach students the tools of their trade, but we teach them the importance of commitment to their communities. We don’t just train world-class scientists and committed health care practitioners; we train leaders. We back up our real-world experience with an endless stream of real-world advice, from interview prep to grad school guidance. With an impressive and ever-growing list of internship and clinical placements, it’s no wonder that our students are recruited for competitive positions, often before they graduate.

In Their Words
"It was incredibly eye opening working with the children in Hamden, teaching them nutrition and learning how there are many children who weren't getting this education at home. It was so rewarding to engage them in a way that was meaningful."Victoria (Tia) Kozar '17Health science studies

A powerful network of health care leaders
Our students are providing pro-bono physical and occupational therapy services to uninsured locals at a student-run clinic on campus. They’re traveling to Nicaragua and Barbados over winter break to treat diabetic patients and work with needy populations. They are nabbing NIH grants and teaming up with QU professors to conduct important research studies. Our award-winning faculty? You can find them sharing their expertise with the national press, publishing ground-breaking research, even testifying to the United Nations. Our alumni continue to set the gold standard for compassionate and professional health care practitioners around the globe.
