Program Director, Netter Rural Family Medicine Program

Dr. Marquis-Eydman earned her BA in Biology from Colby College and her MD from Dartmouth Medical School, now recognized as the Geisel School of Medicine. Upon completing her residency in family medicine at Deaconess/Forest Park Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, she worked in public health in St. Louis before practicing full-spectrum family medicine in Connecticut.

After a 13-year career in ambulatory primary care and medical student teaching, she pursued her passions for patient-centered care and clinician coaching as the inaugural Chief Experience Officer for Northeast Medical Group. In 2016, Dr. Marquis-Eydman further pursued her love for teaching by joining the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. At Quinnipiac, Dr. Eydman served as an associate professor, director of the MESH (Medical Student Home) program and assistant dean for faculty engagement.

Dr. Marquis-Eydman’s devotion to primary care and rural medicine is exemplified in her roles as Clerkship Director for the Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship (LIC) for 3rd-year Netter students at Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent, Maine, Principal Investigator of an HRSA Grant for Rural Residency Program Development/Family Medicine and inaugural Program Director for the Netter Rural Family Medicine Residency Program. She also serves on multiple community boards and school committees, including the Health Advisory Board for Special Olympics of Connecticut, the New Haven County Medical Society Board of Governors, the Family Medicine Interest Group, and the Committee on Community and Civic Engagement, and as a Specialty Advisor and Capstone mentor for students interested in scholarship surrounding family medicine and/or rural medicine.

When she is not teaching or seeing patients in the office, Dr. Marquis-Eydman can be found hiking on woods trails with her dog, Bella, or spending time with her husband and two kids at home or at their camp in Maine.

Associate Program Director, Connecticut Track

Dr. Morton received her Bachelor of Science in Biology as well as her Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Florida. Dr. Morton then completed her medical training at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, where she was elected a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, before completing her residency training in family medicine at the Brown Family Medicine Residency Program in Pawtucket, RI.

After graduating, Dr. Morton began working for the Hartford Healthcare Medical Group as a primary care provider in Winsted, CT. Dr. Morton has pursued her love of teaching by inviting third-year clerkship students to work with her in the clinic. She now serves as the inaugural Associate Program Director for the Connecticut track of the Netter Rural Family Medicine Residency Program.

A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Dr. Morton spent two years at the United States Military Academy prior to enrolling at the University of Florida. In her free time, Dr. Morton enjoys spending time with her husband, her two dogs and her 6 chickens.
