The Annual Student Loan Acknowledgment Process (ASLA)

Required for all incoming and returning students who are borrowing a federal student loan

Beginning with the 2021-2022 academic year, all students borrowing federal loans are now required to view how much they owe in federal education loans each academic year, and to acknowledge this amount, before a school can disburse your federal loan funds.

This new requirement is called the “Annual Student Loan Acknowledgment Process” (ASLA)

Visit studentaid.gov/asla for more information and to complete the process
