Interactive and intuitive learning

The 325,000 square-foot Center for Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, located on the North Haven Campus, boasts numerous state-of-the-art learning environments designed to simulate emergency and operating rooms, and a range of other clinical settings.

To educate future nurses, we believe in simulating the front-lines of modern patient care. Our facilities offer expansive skill labs with anatomical models and equipment that mimics what is used in clinical settings. Other facilities include health assesment laboratories and seven hi-fidelity simulation suites, including 2 operating rooms. Students also use 16 standardized patient rooms and a human pro-section laboratory, these facilities allow students to hone their technical and decision-making skills in real time, and under the guidance of faculty mentors.

Students also have access to a complete imaging suite with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging equipment, and a vast array of electronic and print resources available in the Edward and Barbara Netter Library.

Libraries

Mastering theory, technology and modern nursing procedures represents only one-half of a student’s educational experience. The other half involves developing their instincts as nurses, and their ability to assess patient needs and manage multiple situations in diverse environments.

Our facilities are active and responsive, and are meant to be as realistic and unpredictable as ERs, urgent care facilities and nursing homes. Our fully equipped model apartment teaches students how to provide care in residential settings. The Simulation suite contains multiple state-of-the-art mannequins poised in various stages of care and need. It includes adult, periatric and neonatal mannequins.
