Develop in-demand skills for high-demand settings

The nation faces a shortage of acute care providers and many hospitals and healthcare systems are in need of highly skilled acute care nurse practitioners. The Post-Master’s Certificate in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program enables these exceptional nurses to capitalize on the high demand in the marketplace by providing the specialized training they need to distinguish themselves as AGACNPs.

Through a combination of online coursework, clinical rotations and two one-week immersions, students will build upon their existing nursing experiences, advancing their skills and learning how to effectively provide care and prescribe for patients with acute health issues. In addition to assessing acute care problems, the program addresses the pharmacological, non-pharmacological and interventional skills required in acute care settings.

After completing this certificate program, students will be eligible to sit for national certification as AGACNPs and add an additional level of specialization to their resumes.
