(UC) Introduction to Psychology

(3 cr.) Students are introduced to the background and breadth of contemporary psychological science. Five perspectives on the study of psychology form the basis for topics within the course, these include the biological, cognitive, social, developmental and scientist-practitioner perspectives. The course emphasizes psychology's philosophical origins, its research methods, and the relationship of the discipline of psychology with other areas of inquiry.
