(2 cr.) The principal focus of this course is to explore mediation advocacy issues for the practitioner representing a client in a mediation. Mediation concepts and implications for developing skills for client representation are examined. Mediation-oriented styles, skills and techniques are contrasted with the techniques required in litigation and arbitration. The exclusive emphasis is on the practitioner's role as an advocate rather than as a neutral/mediator. (1 credit)
