(3 cr.) This course provides students with an understanding of the retirement planning process. The main objectives are to learn the usefulness of retirement plans and employment-based benefits, and to develop recommendations on important retirement and employee benefit decisions. Topics include: Social Security, qualified retirement plans, nonqualified retirement plans, self-employed plans, IRAs, group life insurance, group disability insurance and group health insurance.
