Valuation of Privately Held Businesses

(3 cr.) This course involves the analysis of company and financial information as well as understanding the impact the economy and industry can have on the value of a private company. Fundamental analysis is examined in detail and applied to private and public corporations. Topics include valuation, forecasting growth and value generation in a firm, assessing the quality of and normalizing earnings, analyzing risk and determining pricing multiples and the cost of capital. Prerequisite: FIN 380; Every Other Year, Spring
