I am currently an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Quinnipiac. I have been here since 1996. When asked "what do you do?" I have a hard time answering! I am a chemist and educator. Neither is more important than the other! I am an Inorganic Chemist and Chemical Educator. I live in Cheshire, CT with my family.

Educational Background

BS -- Trinity College (Hartford, CT) -- Chemistry -- 1984 MEd -- University of Massachusetts (Amherst, MA) -- Instructional Learning -- 1985 PhD -- Georgetown University (Washingtion, DC) -- Inorganic Chemistry (Dissertation Advisor: Dr. Louis C. W. Baker) -- 1993

Selected Workshops & Presentations

Work In Progress

I continue to study the redox properties of polyoxometalates (heteropolyanions) in aqueous solution. I am also preparing some laboratory experiences using polyoxometalates for upper division chemistry students. I also am working on the use of remote response systems ("clickers") in the small class environment, as well as group work with clickers.

Community / Practive Activities

I am a past President of the Quinnipiac Chapter of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society and have been involved in the New Haven Section of the American Chemical Society. I have served on various University and College Commmittees. I enjoy singing in my church folk group.

Research Interests

redox properties of polyoxometalates (heteropolyanions); use of remote response systems (clickers)
