Professor Frederick Tse-shyang Chen joined the School of Law faculty in 1978. He teaches contracts, commercial law, international law, international human rights, law of the sea, international trade, international business transactions, secured transactions, real estate transactions and Chinese law. He has been a visiting faculty member at Drake, National Cheng-chi (Taipei, Taiwan), Peking (Beijing, China), and Chuo (Tokyo, Japan) and was Dean of the Law School at Soochow University (Taipei). He has served as adviser to the Republic of China's Ministry of Finance and to the Monetary Section of the Republic's Ad Hoc Council on Economic Renovation. Professor Chen's research focuses on international law and contract law. His article "The Iraqi War, Hegemony, and International Law" was published in the Japanese comparative law journal, Hikakuho Zasshi, in 2005. He is the faculty adviser to Quinnipiac's International Law Society and the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association. He enjoys classical music and travel.
