everal Quinnipiac School of Nursing students spent part of their weekend helping members of the Hamden community develop healthier behaviors.

Partnering with the Hamden Police, Hamden Fire and Hamden’s Partnership for Young Children, our students performed free blood-pressure screenings, body-mass index measurements and other health promotional activities for the dozens of children and their families who attended the “Let’s Move” event at Church Street School.

“Community engagement is an important part of what we do in the School of Nursing,” said Lisa Rebeschi, associate dean and professor. “Besides spending time studying and practicing in the clinical arena, nursing students at Quinnipiac respond to opportunities for providing service to our local communities in Hamden and North Haven.”

It was one of just many ways the School of Nursing gives back to our communities each year.
