ind out what makes your heart happy through a new virtual initiative that highlights the benefits of journaling.

Students may participate in “Practice You” weekly on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. or Thursdays at 3 p.m. for five weeks, beginning September 29 through Zoom.

“It requires us to reflect on what is happening, how we are feeling and what is going on in the moment. It gives us a framework and benchmark for where we are and where we are going as well,” Tami Reilly, director of fitness and well being, said of the new Zoom-based series.

Reilly said self check-ins and tending to feelings of discomfort are important to good mental health.

“Participants will receive a journal with prompts that is almost too beautiful to write in,” she said “I will be guiding the participants to different sections of the book and different prompts what we will then discuss each week. The exercises all center around coming ‘home to yourself’ to get to know yourself better and to reflect on things we may have been overlooking. The journal is meant to be a year-long process, so we will start it together, but then the participants will finish the pages on their own time,” said Reilly.
