uinnipiac’s distinction as the top military-friendly private university in the United States among schools offering doctoral degrees has been highlighted in G.I. Jobs magazine.
“I’m extremely proud of our warrior-scholars for working very hard,” said Jason Burke, director of veteran and military affairs. “This ranking stems from their mission focus, resulting in high retention and graduation rates. Also, our entire QU community is diligent with its support of our veterans, military members and their dependents.
Military Friendly®, a non-profit that measures an organization’s commitment, effort and success in creating sustainable and meaningful opportunities for the military community, provided the rankings for May issue of the magazine, a premier resource for articles, tips and online tools to help military transitioners explore different career and post-secondary education options.
“Quinnipiac’s leadership ensures the campuses are welcoming for our non-traditional students and as a whole, we want to show a constant ‘thank you’ to those who’ve served and sacrificed for their country,” Burke added.
Now in its 10th year, the Military Friendly® Schools list has set the standard for higher education institutions in providing the best opportunities for veterans and their spouses. This prestigious list provides a comprehensive guide for veterans and their families using data sources from federal agencies and proprietary survey information from participating organizations.
Institutions earning the Military Friendly® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey completed by the school. More than 1,000 schools participated in the 2020-2021 survey, with 625 schools earning the designation from every state in the country.
In addition to the Military Friendly® standing, Military Times has ranked Quinnipiac No. 1 in Connecticut and No. 10 nationally for “Best for Vets Colleges: The best schools for military students in 2020.”
