Launch your career as a teacher at Quinnipiac

This unique, part-time program enables non-certified teachers, paraprofessionals and other support staff working in Connecticut schools to complete requirements for teacher licensure and graduate with their MAT in 2-3 years. 

Unique pathway to initial teaching certification

This part-time master's program provides current school employees with the mentorship, support and guidance they need to get started on a pathway to licensure without having to step away from their job. Other program features include:

  • Completion in 2-3 years with convenient evening and summer courses

  • Flexible scheduling that enables you to maintain your current job, salary and benefits

  • Preparation to serve as a teacher of record within 10 months

  • Three distinct pathways in elementary, secondary or special education that enable you to pursue your teaching goals

  • No requirements for additional internship or student-teaching for teaching assistants, paraprofessionals, tutors and other supporting roles

Students applying to this program must have already earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, work in the state of Connecticut and work in a school environment or have the immediate potential to be hired by a school as a non-certified teacher, paraprofessional, tutor or supporting staff member.
