Quinnipiac University (“we,” “our,” “us,” “Quinnipiac”) is committed to protecting and preserving your privacy. By using our website (“Site”), you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy also describes the manner in which we process, use and disclose information that you provide to us when you use our Site.

We do update this Privacy Policy from time to time so please review this Privacy Policy regularly. Information We Collect

  • Information that you provide to us in order to make payment for tuition or other cost, fee, fine, etc. Please note that we do not process your payment card data; our third-party payment processor, TouchNet, processes payments on our behalf. We do not store or maintain credit/debit card or financial account information on our Site.

  • Information that you provide to us if you apply for a faculty or administrative or staff position such as your resume and other relevant information.

  • Information that you provide to us if you choose to donate to Quinnipiac through our Site such as your name, address, donation amount, and other relevant information.

  • Information that you provide to us if you submit an application for enrollment such as your name, address, email address, telephone number, education, and other details.

  • If you are a current student and/or faculty or staff member, we may collect information from you such as your name, email address, username, password and/or student ID/faculty ID in order to create an account for you to access relevant information from us (e.g., Blackboard, MyQ).

  • Information provided to us when you communicate with us for any reason or if you request information from us.

By submitting a telephone number to Quinnipiac, you agree that a representative of Quinnipiac may contact you at the number you provide, potentially through a pre-recorded message or using automated technology (including texts/SMS messaging if you “opt-in”). Your consent is not an obligation to receive any of our products and/or services.

How We Use Cookies

A “cookie” is a piece of text which asks permission to be placed on your hard drive. Once you agree, this cookie file is stored on the hard drive. They help us to improve our Site. They present the content from our Site in the most effective manner for you and your device.

All devices have the ability to decline cookies. This can be done by activating the setting on your browser which enables you to decline the cookies. Please note that should you choose to decline cookies; you may be unable to access particular parts of our Site.

We do track our users across time and across websites. However, our Site does not respond to Web browser “do not track” signals or other mechanisms that provide consumers the ability to exercise choice regarding the collection of personally identifiable information about an individual consumer’s online activities over time and across third-party websites.

We have enabled Google Analytics Display Advertising Features on our Site, too. Google allows you to opt-out of this tracking process at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

We make us of a consumer data platform to collect information about visitor activity for the purposes of providing customized content delivery and advanced functionality. This information includes pages visited, entry and exit points, and other visitor behavior.

Use of Your Information

The information that we collect and store relating to you is primarily used to enable us to provide our products and/or services to you in the best possible manner. In addition, we may use the information for the following purposes:

  1. To provide you with information relating to our services;

  2. To fulfill or meet the reason you provided the information;

  3. To provide third parties with statistical information about the users of our Site;

  4. To monitor and conduct an analysis of our Site traffic and usage patterns;

  5. To respond to law enforcement requests and as required by applicable law, court order or governmental regulations;

  7. We will not use personal information we collected for materially different, unrelated, or incompatible purposes without providing you with notice and/or updating this Privacy Policy.

To secure your information, we have put in place commercially suitable physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect on our Site.

Nonetheless, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure and therefore we cannot guarantee the security of data sent to us electronically on our Site, and transmission of such data is therefore entirely at your own risk.

Where applicable, we may disclose your personal information to any affiliated entities or third parties necessary to provide our services to you. This includes, where applicable, third parties involved in the administration and operation of our services and/or Site. Where we disclose personal information for a purpose set forth herein, we enter a contract with the third party that describes the purpose and requires the third-party recipient to both keep that personal information confidential and not use it for any purpose except performing the contract.

Third-Party Websites

By accessing third party websites through our Site, you are consenting to the terms and privacy policies of those websites. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for their policies whatsoever as we have no control over them.

Users Only of Age 16 or Older

Our Site is designed and intended for those who have reached the age of 16 or older. By using our Site, you affirm that you are at least 16 years of age or older. We are not liable for any damages that may result from a user’s misrepresentation of age.

No one under age 13 is authorized to submit or post any information, including personally identifying information, on our Site. Under no circumstances may anyone under age 13 use our Site. Parents or legal guardians of children under 13 cannot agree to these Terms on their behalf.

European Union

While Quinnipiac does not intend to collect any personal information from individuals in the European Union (“EU”), Quinnipiac has committed to handling such personal information in accordance with the EU data protection laws.

To the extent applicable, we will honor your requests pursuant to applicable EU law if we process your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy and you are located in the EU. We will only process your personal information if we have lawful bases for the specific purpose or activity involved, which may include the following:

  • We may use your personal information where we have a legitimate interest in doing so, including to communicate with you and to send you information by email, postal mail, telephone, or other means about Quinnipiac.

  • We may process your personal information where we determine it is necessary to comply with our legal obligations.

  • We may process your personal information where we receive your consent to do so. Where we rely on your consent for processing your personal information, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

If you are located in the EU, subject to applicable exemptions and limitations, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that such personal information be erased, corrected or transferred. You may also have the right to object to our processing or your personal information or to request that we restrict certain processing.
