Pi Kappa Phi, Iota Lambda chapter, earned two major awards for the chapter's accomplishments this past year for leadership and engagement.

The Fogarty Award and Champion Master Chapter Award were recently presented to the Quinnipiac chapter at Pi Kappa Phi’s national headquarters.

The Fogarty Award is named after Pi Kappa Phi’s founder Simon Fogarty Jr. The award is one of Pi Kappa Phi’s highest chapter honors recognizing exceptional leadership, service and commitment to Pi Kappa Phi’s mission and values.

Iota Lambda at Quinnipiac finished 2025 as the highest scoring chapter in the Pittsburgh Pi Kapp College region.

The Champion Master Chapter Award is another major national achievement, it recognizes chapters in the top 10% nationwide, and is based on the Founders Report, a list of various markers of success within a chapter, from leadership to service to overall engagement.

“The Iota Lambda chapter, that's the designation here at Quinnipiac, worked incredibly hard to earn the Champion Master Chapter Award and the Fogarty Award,” said Avery Moses, director of fraternity and sorority life. “Their executive board, led by Timmy Zidle, was dedicated to accomplishing their goals, setting a standard for other groups, and challenging themselves to be the best chapter they've been.”

During his term, Zidle helped increase the average service hours performed this past fall to 9.9 hours per member, and increased the chapter's average grade point average by .15.

“They had an outstanding year in 2025 and deserved this recognition,” said Moses.

Chapter president Ryan Arnesen ‘27, MBA ‘28, said he was proud of his chapter.

“When it comes to recruitment, we focus on being authentic and showing potential new members what Pi Kappa Phi is truly about," said Arnesen. "We highlight our close-knit brotherhood, our values and the sense of belonging that comes with being part of our chapter, rather than trying to sell something we’re not.”

However, Pi Kappa Phi, is not the only chapter at Quinnipiac to be recognize this past year.
