Momentum across Mount Carmel Campus continues

Quinnipiac's new bookstore

Members of the Quinnipiac community will be welcomed back to the Mount Carmel Campus for the Spring semester with several new enhancements.

New university bookstore opens

A new, larger bookstore will greet Bobcats near The Dome and main entrance to the Mount Carmel Campus. The space formerly known as the Faculty Office Building has been completely reimagined and renovated to serve as a freestanding bookstore.

The new 15,000-square-foot, two-story bookstore is filled with natural light and Quinnipiac spirit. A variety of Bobcat merchandise will immediately be visible on all sides as visitors enter the new bookstore — with a clear view through a central glass staircase of the lower level featuring a variety of books and gift options.

Throughout the coming weeks, additional features will be added — including an ice hockey fan experience complete with game-used accessories on display.

New School of Business café name to be revealed

It may have only opened in August but it’s already become a beloved campus spot to study, recharge or enjoy some downtime with friends.

The name of the School of Business café will officially be revealed on Tuesday. Named and managed by students, the space gives our Bobcats a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills in the heart of the new South Quad.

Student-managers have worked with their fellow students, faculty and administrators throughout the university to develop branding, operations, strategy and build upon what they have learned in the classroom.

The café features cold and warm breakfast items, including overnight oats, made-to order and grab-and-go lunch sandwiches, as well as a We Proudly Serve Starbucks coffee with brewed iced and hot beverages and bottled drinks.

Connecting our two quads

Major progress has been made toward removing Buckman Center, in order to open up the campus and connect the Quad with South Quad, in accordance with the 2020 Master Plan.

The vestibule between Tator Hall and the former Buckman Center has been removed to allow members of the university community to walk more easily between the two quads.

The razing of Buckman Center comes after the opening of the state-of-the-art new labs and meeting spaces in The SITE, School of Business and The Grove residence hall. The fencing is expected to be removed around the construction area later this semester.
