The Department of Visual and Performing arts is proud to present “Legally Blonde: The Musical,” beginning this weekend

Performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19 through Saturday, March 21 and Thursday, March 26 through Saturday, March 28, with additional shows at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 22 and March 29 in the Quinnipiac Theatre Arts Building on Sherman Avenue near the entrance to the York Hill Campus.

“I hope the audience is encouraged to be free to be themselves, while allowing their perception of themselves to shift and grow as they experience new things in life, like Elle Woods” said Angelisa Gillyard, director of theater production and programming.

The cast has worked extremely hard during this process, said Caelan Gustafson, who will be playing the role of Elle Woods. She said she is especially excited to make her Quinnipiac theater debut this weekend.

Gustafson said that this has been an extremely rewarding experience and has felt incredibly welcomed by the community.

She said she prepared for the role by embodying her character.

“Elle Woods always has a light inside her. No matter the challenge or how she’s perceived by others, she remains unapologetically herself,” she said.
