Taylor Smooke ’26 accepted a full-time position with Advanced Radiology Consultants along with a per diem X-ray role with Yale New Haven Hospital Shoreline Medical Group.

“I look forward to honing my craft as an x-ray technologist and utilizing the patient care skills I learned from the radiologic science program,” Smooke said.

Smooke chose a path in radiologic sciences following her own injuries, when she realized the importance of diagnostic imaging.

“I decided to major in the radiologic sciences program because I wanted to be an integral part of the diagnostic process in medicine,” Smooke said. “After experiencing my own orthopedic injuries from dancing ballet, I understood the relief from a patient’s perspective after receiving diagnostic confirmation from imaging. Because of my own experiences, I wanted to be an active participant in this process by aiding in patient care and achieving the production of quality images for diagnostic purposes.”

Smooke gave credit to the radiologic sciences program at Quinnipiac for adequately preparing her for her positions. Specifically, Smooke said her clinical rotations left an impact on her.

“One of the most helpful preparations for job searching was the clinical experience,” Smooke said. “Before we started our clinical rotations, our clinical professor emphasized the need to treat clinic like a job evaluation with prospective employers and not just a completion requirement for the program. Utilizing this perspective was incredibly helpful to demonstrate my skills and work ethic at clinical sites, facilitating the job search and ultimately the hiring process.”

While navigating a demanding radiologic sciences program at Quinnipiac, Smooke took extra steps in getting real-world experiences. She worked at Advanced Radiology Consultants as a per diem patient service specialist and MRI and CT scan tech aide.

Smooke is also a dedicated member of the Quinnipiac community. She has volunteered her time to accepted-student panels and peer tutoring since August 2025.

Smooke expressed gratitude to Quinnipiac for assisting her on her journey to becoming the student and professional she is today.

“Quinnipiac prepared me for the professional world with collaborative work through group projects, practicing presenting information in front of classes and, above all else, the high standards of quality academic work,” said Smooke.
