When Timothy Zidle ‘26 walks across the Commencement stage next weekend and prepares to start his career as a diagnostic medical sonographer at the Maine Medical Center, he said he will be filled with the confidence that he will be ready to help support patients on day one.

“Quinnipiac has provided me with a well-rounded education that extends far beyond the classroom,” said Zidle, a diagnostic medical sonography major. “The combination of rigorous academic training, hands-on clinical experience and leadership opportunities has prepared me to enter the workforce with confidence and competence.”

The diagnostic medical sonography program, in particular, has equipped him with the technical skills and clinical judgment necessary to succeed as a sonographer while his involvement throughout the university has strengthened my leadership and interpersonal abilities, he said.

“Ultimately, Quinnipiac has shaped me into a driven, adaptable and well-prepared professional," said Zidle. “My time at this university has been nothing but amazing, and although I am sad to say goodbye, I am excited to begin my professional career and implement the many skills I have gained here into the workplace and beyond.”

He began working in the university’s recreation and wellness center his first year and has advanced throughout his time at Quinnipiac to an area supervisor of facilities and operations.

“My extracurricular involvement has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally while making meaningful contributions to the Quinnipiac community,” he said. “Being involved in the diagnostic imaging club and volunteering at Admissions and campus events helped me connect with prospective students and further develop my communication skills. Additionally, participating in community service initiatives and intramural sports helped me maintain balance, build relationships, and stay engaged outside of academics.”

He has also been an engaged member of Pi Kappa Phi, serving as both president of the fraternity and of the Interfraternity Council. For his dedication, Zidle earned fraternity member of the year at this year’s undergraduate awards.

“My time in Fraternity and Sorority Life has played a major role in developing my leadership, communication and organizational skills,” he said. “Serving as Interfraternity Council president, later as president of Pi Kappa Phi, and finally as a member of the national Council of Archons has challenged me to lead diverse groups, manage conflict and make decisions that impacted the broader community. Additionally, my involvement in initiatives like M.O.V.E (Men Opposing Violence Everywhere) strengthened my ability to advocate for important issues such as mental health. These experiences have directly translated into my clinical and professional development, where strong interpersonal skills and leadership are essential in-patient care and team-based healthcare environments. My experience within this community has been nothing short of extraordinary, and I am blessed to have been a part of it.”
