When our students achieve great things, we take notice.

Each year, our School of Communications hosts a special barbeque and awards ceremony honoring senior students who have shown high levels of academic excellence and exhibited strong leadership qualities, both within their respective programs and throughout the university. Each of our eight professional schools and college of arts and sciences each do something unique to honor their students.

Our professors, advisers and counselors — there are no teaching assistants at Quinnipiac — help our students to define their career goals throughout the time at Quinnipiac to put them on a path to achieve them.

Beginning in their first year, we help create a personal success plan and a digital portfolio where they record the breadth of experiences over their time at the university that will demonstrate their preparedness to prospective employers. Eighty percent of employers surveyed tell us that they find the demonstrable knowledge and skillset in the portfolio helpful — and 82 percent of our students give us high marks for our emphasis on providing support during the process.

Throughout their time in #BobcatNation, exceptional students like media studies major Angie King ‘17 eye their futures with unwavering intention and focus — with the help of our full-time faculty, 87 percent of whom hold the highest degree in the field.

In addition to earning the Most Outstanding Achievement Award within her major, she took home the awards for Best Overall GPA and Overall Achievement for the entire School of Communications. Each spring, we honor the commitment of students like Angie to embracing the challenges and seizing opportunities wherever they become available.

In doing so, we renew our own commitment to fostering a community where students are transformed, and their work celebrated.
