Family medicine clerkship director elected president of the Connecticut Academy of Family Practitioners

Dr. Khuram Ghumman

Dr. Khuram Ghumman, associate professor and family medicine clerkship director in the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine, was recently elected president of the Connecticut Academy of Family Practitioners.

The CAFP is a professional medical society dedicated to maintaining high standards of family medicine representing 600 family physicians, residents and medical students. CAFP provides members with practice-based support, education, government relations and public relations services. CAFP advocates for family physicians and their patients while working to recruit more family physicians to care for patients across Connecticut.

Ghumman is a family physician, certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He currently serves as a partner at East Granby Family Practice.

He joined Frank H Netter MD School of Medicine in 2013, and is the founding clerkship director of primary care clerkship, and director of the family medicine sub internship.

In addressing the CAFP membership, Ghumman stated that it is an honor and privilege to represent my fellow family physicians and that he looks forward to working with the board to meet the needs of CAFP members.

Prior to being elected president, Ghumman also served as treasurer and secretary.
