School of Law panel considers implications of DACA

The School of Law led a discussion this week on the ramifications of ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, commonly known as DACA — as well as other related immigration issues.

The discussion, which was led by Professor Sheila Hayre; included Denia Perez JD ’18, the child of undocumented Mexican immigrants; Lucas Codognolla, the lead coordinator for Connecticut Students for a Dream and a DACA recipient; and Edwin Colon, an attorney with the Connecticut Center for Children’s Advocacy.

The School of Law stands at the forefront on the discussion and implementation of immigration reform — and related legal battles.
