Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont swore in six Quinnipiac School of Law alumni as Superior Court judges on Tuesday.

The newly appointed judges include:

  • Moira Buckley, JD ’97
  • Patrick Caruso, JD ’96
  • Vikki Cooper, JD ’04
  • Thomas Saadi, JD ’99 - Former executive branch chief, commissioner of the Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Professor Emily Wagner, JD - Faculty member at Quinnipiac’s School of Law
  • Jason Welch, JD ’01

In addition, Jacquelyn Kercelius, JD ’12, was appointed family support magistrate.

All newly appointed officials were approved by the state legislature after being nominated in March.

The seven individuals from Quinnipiac have served on the bench for about a month already, after the completion of a four-week training course.

The newly sworn-in officials will aid Connecticut courts in catching up on backlog cases brought on by the unfortunate COVID-19 pandemic, Lamont said.
